Built to get school students ready for the Olympiad.
CyberLearner started as a way to prepare school students for the ICO, the International Cybersecurity Olympiad. Most of what the Olympiad tests is not part of any school syllabus, so students had a lot of ground to cover in not much time. This platform was built to make that possible.
Learn by doing, then understand why
Every topic comes with a hands-on lab and the theory behind it. In the labs you attack real, running systems and watch exactly how each technique works. The written material explains the ideas in plain language, enough to actually understand what you are doing without assuming you have seen any of it before.
Because cybersecurity is rarely taught in schools, the material was written with one reader in mind: a busy student in their final year who has never studied the subject. Sit down with it and you can pick up a lot of advanced ground in a short time.
Free, and open to everyone
The author believes education should be free for everyone. CyberLearner is free and open. Anyone can sign up and start. Use it as a study portal to learn at your own pace, or run it as a CTF competition when you need one.
About the author
CyberLearner is built and maintained by Farhad Rahimli, a long-time security practitioner and educator. He built the platform to pass on what he has learned and to give students a serious, practical way into the field.
